This is a walking tour of the older part of Mt. Vernon Cemetery (6920 Rawlins Rd, Atchison, KS 66002), focusing on the lives of Amelia Earhart's extended family members buried on the grounds. This will include members of the Otis family who lived in the house that is now the AEBM, as well as members of the Earhart, Tonsing, Challis, Balis, and Hetherington, families. Additionally, the tour will highlight some symbolism on gravestones, typical of the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
