Inspired By Amelia

Amelia had a huge impact on those around her during her time. She continues to inspire people to this day. Here is a list of some people that have looked to Amelia and found the courage to make their dreams come true too!


  • Earhart Sweets

At Earhart Sweets you will find Amelia, a 21-year old self-taught baker! She attends Cornell University.   • Bachman-Turner Overdrive

This 1970s Canadian rock group had a few pretty good bangers back in the day. "Let it Ride," "You ain't Seen Nothing Left," and "Taking Care of Business" are just a couple songs that most anyone would recognize. A lesser known song they released is titled "Amelia Earhart." The lyrics are beautiful and tell her story fondly.




  • Hollywood's "Amelia" movie

Mira Nair directed the biographical movie about Amelia in 2009. Hillary Swank and Richard Gere portrayed Amelia and George. IMBD described it as A look at the life of legendary American pilot Amelia Earhart, who disappeared while flying over the Pacific Ocean in 1937 in an attempt to make a flight around the world.




  • Amelia has made some pop culture appearances

TV shows, movies, art, and other pop culture media outlets have featured Amelia. One fan-favorite is her appearance in the "Night at the Museum" movie sequel "Battle at the Smithsonian."


Another pop culture appearance was the 1995 episode of "Star Trek: Voyager" in which she and Noonan were found abducted on another planet.

Amelia being abducted by aliens also inspired a comic book.

"Elsewhere," by Jay Faerber (2017) featured Amelia Earhart as starting a rebellion against the local warlord on the planet.






  • Celebrities and TV Explorers have searched for her

On the discovery channel you can find the explorer and TV personality (with a degree in archeology) Josh Gates. On Expedition Unknown, Season 0 - Episode 1, Josh explored new evidence related to her disappearance.





  • Amelia as Home Decor
